About the RoleWe are looking for a highly capable Fulfillment Operations Lead to take ownership of daily fulfillment from beginning to end. This is a working leadership position, not a desk-only logistics or supervisory role.
You will be responsible for personally driving the operation while directing a small supporting team of approximately one or two hourly team members. The right person can review the day's orders and deadlines, organize the work, assign responsibilities, jump into execution, and make sure every shipment leaves accurately and on time.
You will have support, but you will remain directly accountable for the outcome. Success in this role requires initiative, urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to solve routine operational problems without waiting for constant direction or follow-up.
What You Will Own Retailer and Distributor Fulfillment- Own retailer, distributor, and wholesale purchase orders from receipt through final carrier pickup.
- Review orders, confirm inventory availability, and identify missing information or potential issues before they delay shipment.
- Coordinate freight pickups, delivery appointments, and shipping schedules with carriers, distributors, retailers, and internal teams.
- Prepare and verify pallets, case counts, pallet labels, packing lists, bills of lading, and other required shipping documentation.
- Ensure each order meets the applicable routing, labeling, pallet-configuration, and documentation requirements.
- Stage completed orders correctly and confirm that carriers receive the right freight at the scheduled time.
- Maintain clear records of scheduled pickups, completed shipments, delays, shortages, and exceptions.
- Proactively follow up when a pickup is late, an appointment changes, or required documentation is missing.
- Resolve shortages, damages, refused pickups, incorrect labels, and other shipping issues quickly and practically.
- Communicate shipment status and risks early, before they become urgent problems.
- Own the daily DTC order flow across Kin's e-commerce, inventory, and shipping systems.
- Review incoming orders, establish daily priorities, and ensure orders are released and shipped within the required service window.
- Personally participate in picking, packing, labeling, kitting, and staging orders.
- Manage standard orders, subscriptions, promotional bundles, variety packs, and special configurations.
- Generate and verify shipping labels, packing slips, and carrier manifests.
- Coordinate parcel-carrier pickups and confirm that all completed packages leave the facility as scheduled.
- Identify and resolve address issues, inventory mismatches, duplicate orders, cancellations, rush requests, and other exceptions.
- Maintain high packaging standards so every customer receives a clean, accurate, and brand-appropriate order.
- Work with customer service and internal teams to resolve lost, damaged, delayed, or incorrectly fulfilled orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory records across physical inventory and internal systems.
- Manage inventory receipts, movements, allocations, transfers, and approved adjustments.
- Perform routine cycle counts and investigate discrepancies immediately.
- Track product by SKU, lot, and expiration date when applicable.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO practices and ensure older inventory is used appropriately.
- Keep DTC, wholesale, promotional, damaged, and held inventory properly separated and identified.
- Monitor cartons, inserts, tape, labels, and other shipping-supply levels and flag shortages early.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient fulfillment area.
- Direct the daily work of approximately one or two hourly fulfillment team members.
- Create a clear daily plan based on order volume, carrier pickups, and operational priorities.
- Assign responsibilities according to workload and team capability, then work alongside the team to complete the plan.
- Train team members on packing standards, inventory controls, safety procedures, and system workflows.
- Inspect completed work and correct problems before orders leave the facility.
- Hold the team accountable for productivity, attendance, accuracy, and care.
- Adjust assignments and priorities when order volume, pickup timing, or business needs change.
