Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate pricing and purchase terms under supervision and manage non strategic suppliers totaling up to five million dollars.
  • Request and evaluate quotes for materials, procure materials, components, equipment, and services at the lowest cost while maintaining quality, reliability, and urgency standards.
  • Expedite and track orders to ensure timely receipt of materials.
  • Work with engineering and supply chain teams to recommend new suppliers.
  • Issue requests for quotation, analyze proposals, negotiate pricing and delivery, and issue or adjust purchase orders as needed.
  • Follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Lead purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering to maintain planned inventory levels.
  • Lead problem resolution for accounting and receiving issues related to materials.
Functional Knowledge
  • Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise within the discipline, with basic understanding of related areas.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and purchasing strategies.
  • Understanding of inventory management and logistics.
  • Familiarity with contract management and vendor relations.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to handle pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Business Expertise
  • Knowledge of best practices and understanding of how purchasing integrates with other business areas.
  • Awareness of competitive landscape and market differentiators.
  • Significant experience in purchasing or procurement, typically 3 to 5 years.
  • Industry specific experience may be required based on organizational needs.

  • Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
  • May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.

  • Solve complex problems by applying new perspectives and analyzing information from multiple sources.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Preferred fields include business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or related disciplines.
