This position is based in Austin just off Interstate 35 at 2810 Martin Luther King (MLK) Blvd., and the duties of this position require onsite presence five days per week. WHO YOU ARE:An outgoing Warehouse professional eager to partner with the hiring manager and your inventory and store specialist teammates to ensure the Warehouse is organized and operational at a great state agency with a noble public service mission. You are a self-starting, motivated, collaborative problem solver who understands the value of maintaining accurate inventory within the warehouse and within its software systems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:The Inventory and Store Specialist II performs moderately complex (journey-level) warehouse operations work. Work involves stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory, and monitoring warehouse operations for compliance with established security requirements and procedures. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:- Maintain stock, and issues materials, equipment, supplies, merchandise, or other inventory.
- Maintain accounting records, assign inventory numbers to items, and monitor inventory and stock control records following loss prevention and agency guidelines.
- Identify merchandise according to agency policies and procedures, stock shelves as required and provide assistance to customers finding products and making selections.
- Conduct inventory of stock or merchandise and review inventory control records and reports.
- Prepare estimates of supplies and merchandise needs.
- Prepare requests for replenishing supplies and merchandise.
- Load and unload stock and merchandise.
- Dispose of surplus property and arrange and rotate merchandise.
- Assist local and out of town drivers with deliveries.
- Prepare purchase requests or orders and maintain files and supporting documentation.
- Operate a forklift and perform minor equipment maintenance.
- Assist in filing orders by packaging, mailing, or delivering items.
- Perform related work as needed
- One year of full-time experience in property accounting, retail sales and inventory management.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
- Knowledge of warehousing methods and procedures, inventory and stock control record keeping, customer service, and standard business practices.
- Skill in operating a computer with Windows 10 and in using applicable software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer).
- Ability to transfer stock from one location to another, review warehouse operations for compliance, follow prescribed inventory control standards, and communicate effectively.

Duty involves up to 25% travel within the state of Texas and the ability to lift 64 pounds. Requires a valid Texas driver license be maintained while employed in the position. The work schedule for this position is 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Possession of a valid CDL Class-B is strongly preferred or the ability to obtain within six months of date of employment and maintained while employed in this position.
Must have an insurable driving record. A driver's license check is one of the pre-employment background checks.
