Operations Lead – Leader Built Relentless Execution

Overview

• Fringe Sport is hiring an Operations Lead to help us build a dominant, disciplined, and scalable operations engine. This is a high accountability role for someone who takes pride in execution, consistency, and winning as a team.
• We are not looking for a caretaker. We are looking for an execution driver. Someone who shows up every day, owns outcomes, and reinforces high standards inside our Austin distribution center.
• This role is designed for someone early in their career who has already demonstrated leadership through responsibility, follow through, and influence. You do not need a formal management title, but you do need a track record of being relied on to get important work done right. This is a junior but exceptional operator role with real responsibility, clear expectations, and a defined path into broader ownership.
• Our systems are built and our expectations are high. Your job is to run the playbook, protect the operation, and help raise the bar through consistent execution.
• This is not a rotational program and not a senior operations leadership role. It is hands on, demanding, and deeply rewarding for the right person. You will not be expected to define our operating model on day one. You will be supported by Ops leadership as you master execution and earn broader ownership over time.

• Be accountable for day to day execution inside the Austin distribution center.
• Ensure established processes, standards, and workflows are followed consistently.
• Reinforce expectations, accuracy, and operational discipline with the DC team.
• Support and supervise DC team members in their daily work.
• Monitor operational performance and surface issues, risks, and improvement opportunities to Ops leadership.
• Learn Fringe Sport’s operations systems, decision frameworks, and operating rhythm by executing within them.
• Partner closely with Ops leadership and DC leads to keep operations running smoothly.

• Take on increased responsibility as context, judgment, and trust are built.
• Manage DC leads with greater independence over time.
• Participate in ops improvement initiatives under guidance.
• Gradually own more complex operational decisions as readiness is demonstrated.

• Not a senior operations manager role.
• Not responsible for defining ops strategy or redesigning systems initially.
• Not an independent owner of carrier negotiations, 3PL strategy, or cross functional ops decisions at the start.
• Not a rotational or fast track management program.

• Early in career but demonstrating strong leadership potential.
• Comfortable with accountability and execution.
• Coachable, curious, and open to feedback.
• Interested in operations, supply chain, and how businesses actually run day to day.
• Looking to grow into greater ownership over time rather than start with it.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in work, school, athletics, or organizations.
• Strong work ethic and personal accountability.
• Ability to operate in a fast paced environment.
• Clear communicator who escalates issues early.
• Exposure to operations or supply chain environments is a plus.

• Owns day to day DC execution within established standards, with support from Ops leadership.
• Understands key metrics, constraints, and escalation paths
• Trusted to surface issues early and propose practical improvements
• Seen as reliable, consistent, and detail oriented by the DC team

• Based in Austin, Texas. In office and DC presence required.
• Salary range: $60k to $75k with growth as responsibility increases.

• $60,000 – $75,000 per year
