Operations Manager
Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for planning and leading a specific project or a wide range of different construction projects from beginning to end. Responsibilities also include supervision of all vendors, contractors, and sub-contractors that are utilized throughout the various phases and scopes of solar projects as assigned by the Construction Operations Manager.
Responsibilities- Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS).
- Develops solar project timelines for project completion and manages land development and permitting, interconnection, and off-take timeline.
- Creates and maintains full project development schedules, high level construction, and interconnection schedules, to establish reasonable and achievable construction start and commercial operation dates.
- Coordinates the installation schedules, monitors, and manages required staffing to ensure on time completion.
- Ensures all regulations are met and permits are acquired.
- Proactively identifies elements of proposed project designs and construction requirements which could lead to disputes, claims, increased cost, or could adversely impact the image of the organization.
- Provides professional oversight to multiple construction projects to ensure completion in a timely manner and within budget.
- Monitors, evaluates, and reports ongoing status of construction projects operationally and financially.
- Communicates effectively with both internal departments and external subcontractors and suppliers when revisions and/or addendums are required.
- Evaluates and approves all payment applications and invoices related to construction capital projects, ensuring budget compliance.
- Reviews change order requests to determine validity and importance while exercising professional judgment.
- Selects vendors, contractors, and/or subcontractors that provide exemplary, professional service in the most cost-efficient manner.
- Exercises professional judgment in the selection of vendors to complete construction projects while managing the needs of the company and maintaining productive relationships.
- Maintains consistent and accurate records throughout projects, including final reviews of projects post completion.
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge in solar and construction industry.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Computer and related software knowledge and/or experience and the ability to learn/use new computer programs to include MS Office products including MS Project.
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills.

- High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in planning, design and/or construction management of photovoltaic systems preferred.
- Up to four years of experience in construction management or solar industry preferred.
This position directs and manages the Site Superintendents and Subcontractors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, training and development of employees and subcontractors; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching; addressing complaints/concerns, resolving problems, and ensuring consistent application of organizational needs.
