Position Summary

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the After-Hours team.

Reports to: Director Clinical Services

Supervises: RNs, LVNs, Social Workers, Chaplains

Interpersonal Relationships: All comments, actions and behaviors have a direct effect on the public’s perception of Hospice Austin. Interactions with patients, family members, physicians, referral sources, visitors, co-workers, etc. must be in a manner that is courteous, respectful, cooperative and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork and positive relations.

• Supervises and coordinates clinical operations after hours.
• Coordinates after-hours multi-disciplinary team and agency issues
• Facilitates smooth transition between levels of care
• Coordinates Crisis Care cases after hours
• Other duties as assigned
• Direct supervision of homecare after hours team
• Ensures operations are maintained within budgetary constraints
• Schedules staff and ensures an adequate level of care
• Develops protocols and procedures for triage
• Develops and maintains service standards
• Supervises staff
• Interviews and hires employees
• Trains, coaches and counsels staff
• Performs performance appraisals in a timely manner
• Investigates and implements disciplinary issues; discharges staff if necessary.
