Overview
Manager, Operations – Northlake, TX (on-site) with proximity to Austin. Location details: 3400 Catherine Court, Northlake, TX. This is a full-time position with responsibilities across day-to-day site operations, warehousing, receiving, shipping, planning inbound/outbound volume, customer communication, space and equipment management, and people management including hiring, training, performance appraisals, and issue resolution. This role supports company objectives in performance, safety, and quality and complies with corporate and site policies.

This is an on-site role at our Northlake, TX facility.
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for day-to-day site operations, including supervising warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product, planning inbound/outbound volume, customer communication, space management, and equipment management. People management includes hiring and training, labor planning, performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems. Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality and to comply with all policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies.
- Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals; comply with client SLAs.
- Drive Continuous Improvement efforts and provide ideas for more efficient operations and cost savings.
- Meet client-specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements.
- Manage operations to achieve objectives; communicate effectively, supervise fairly, and address personnel issues as needed.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on hiring, training, and development; participate in performance evaluation processes.
- Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time.
- Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues affecting operations.
- Plan daily work schedules by reviewing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions; assign duties to warehouse staff based on priorities and resources.
- Review volume demands to plan warehouse space, supplies, equipment, and staffing needs.
- Ensure effective training by qualified individuals and adherence to SOPs (DSV and client).
- Ensure leadership team assesses progress of trainees for performance and cultural fit.
- Maintain high motivation to provide high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members.
- Support adherence to SOPs and conduct routine staff meetings to review activities.
- Ensure team members are trained and efficient with information systems (including WMS) to meet objectives and facilitate facility operations.
- Purchase necessary software/hardware per IT policies; stay informed on technology changes.
- Develop proficiency in client systems.
- Maintain high-level customer service standards for all functions.
- Ensure client accounts receive operational and administrative support; maintain contact with functions and respond to requests.
- Attend or lead meetings with key customers; coordinate supplier/customer visits; promote positive client relationships through excellent service.
- Support the development of an annual operating budget.
- Develop and manage controls to meet service levels and financial goals within cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
- Assist with budgeting and pricing activities in line with contract guidelines.
- Manage programs for sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment including MHE.
- Ensure team members are trained on MHE.
- Stay informed of new technology and make recommendations as applicable.
- Achieve safety goals by fostering a proactive culture; improve injury frequency ratings and other metrics.
- Audit warehouse safety, security, and quality compliance; ensure adherence to legal requirements.
- Overtime as required by business needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
