Location Requirement
This is a full-time, hybrid leadership role based in the Austin metro area. The role requires regular in-office presence and consistent in-person engagement with property partners, community organizations, and public sector stakeholders across the region. Candidates must currently reside in Austin and be willing to travel approximately 10–20% within North Texas as the region continues to grow.

Role Overview

The Regional Managing Director plays a critical leadership role in expanding Housing Connector’s impact and increasing housing security across the region. As the senior market leader, you will hold full accountability for market performance, owning strategy execution, partnership development, funding growth, and operational excellence.

You will build and sustain deep relationships with property partners, community organizations, and public sector stakeholders to drive measurable, scalable outcomes. Reporting to the COO, this role serves as the senior regional operator, accountable for translating enterprise strategy into sustained regional results.

Building on Housing Connector’s success in existing markets, you will adapt proven best practices to regional conditions, serve as a trusted leader within the local housing ecosystem, and contribute to the development of playbooks that support future market expansion. This role offers end-to-end ownership of regional operations and a meaningful opportunity to shape Housing Connector’s growth strategy at scale.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial leader who thrives in ambiguity and is energized by building and scaling high-impact programs and teams. You bring a strong background in business-to-business partnership development, stakeholder management, and people leadership, paired with strategic judgment, operational rigor, and a bias for action.

Critical Job Functions

The following describe the core responsibilities of the role but are not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties:

  • Own the growth and overall performance of a regional market, including the development of community partnerships, diversified public and private funding streams, and account management of property partnerships.
  • Build and manage senior-level relationships with key stakeholders across the region, with a focus on expanding housing inventory and positioning Housing Connector as a trusted, mission-critical partner.
  • Set, track, and achieve ambitious market-level goals in partnership with executive leadership, translating organizational strategy into clear regional priorities.
  • Own program quality and outcome accountability, ensuring systematic tracking and performance visibility across housing impact, placements, and timelines.
  • Ensure an exceptional, consistent experience for property and community partners by overseeing operational performance, resolving escalated challenges, and continuously improving service delivery.
  • Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing regional team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and a culture of learning, ownership, and impact.
  • Serving as the regional public representative, leading the strategy and oversight of market visibility and influence efforts, ensuring targeted outreach, thought leadership, and awareness initiatives are effectively executed across government and public advocacy settings.
  • Adapt, implement, and continuously improve end-to-end operational infrastructure to meet regional needs while remaining aligned with Housing Connector’s national operating model.
