Associate Director, Sales

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is recruiting for the Associate Director, Sales role at Fairmont Austin, the largest luxury property in Austin. The property boasts 1,048 guestrooms and suites, and offers over 140,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Job Description
  • Develop, implement, maximize, monitor and evaluate objectives, business strategies, and activities of the Sales Managers and Executive Meeting Managers to exceed forecasted revenue figures in all hotel-related revenue streams.
  • Participate in trade shows and promotional events to develop new markets by identifying prospective customers.
  • Control contract processing for Sales Managers and Executive Meeting Managers based on rate negotiation, supporting annual rate growth.
  • Handle key account/market designated by the Associate Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Review and monitor company accounts room nightly production reports to ensure all sales objectives related to monthly revenue budgets are achieved.
  • Adhere to the brand’s overall vision and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Develop an organized, motivated and cohesive team of Sales Managers and Executive Meeting Managers through strong leadership.
  • Drive the sales effectiveness of the team of Sales Managers and Executive Meeting Managers.
  • Monitor weekly sales activities to ensure individual sales calls objectives are achieved.
  • Provide ongoing direction and implement training programs for the team.
  • Work in harmony and synergy with all Senior Executives in the hotel and Corporate Headquarters team.

Qualifications
  • Expert understanding of and well-developed skills in sales, partnerships, and business development, including identifying leads, building relationships, storytelling, negotiating, closing, and account management.
  • Proven track record of building new business relationships and signing significant deals.
  • Comfortable and capable with both developing and executing strategy with the team.
  • Creative, flexible, and solution-oriented.
  • Results-driven, with an ability to execute independently.
  • Natural leader who inspires and motivates the entire team.
  • Comfortable presenting to Senior Leadership with interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with luxury or global brand is an advantage.
  • Analytical, proactive, and innovative mind.
  • Detail-oriented and highly reliable in thorough execution and follow-through.
  • High integrity and ability to keep confidentiality.
  • Previous sales leadership experience required.
  • Must have experience working for luxury hotel brands.
  • Strong experience or adaptable training in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) software and other automated systems, and PCs.
