Macdonald & Company has been exclusively retained by a privately held real estate investment platform to appoint a Vice President of Asset Management.

Our client is an entrepreneurial and growing real estate investment firm with a diversified commercial real estate portfolio across multiple property types and investment structures. The firm is seeking an experienced asset management professional to help drive portfolio performance, lead strategic initiatives, and oversee a growing team.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Vice President of Asset Management will be responsible for developing and executing asset-level business plans, maximizing portfolio performance, and overseeing the firm's asset management function. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving value creation initiatives, managing stakeholder relationships, and supporting the continued growth of the platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the asset management team while establishing best practices across the portfolio.
  • Develop and execute asset strategies designed to maximize value and investment performance.
  • Monitor operating performance, identify opportunities and risks, and recommend strategic actions.
  • Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and portfolio reporting processes.
  • Partner with executive leadership on investment, leasing, capital improvement, and disposition strategies.
  • Manage relationships with operating partners, third-party managers, lenders, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead major value-add, repositioning, and redevelopment initiatives where appropriate.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, market, and portfolio risks.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of commercial real estate asset management experience, including experience overseeing institutional-quality assets.
  • Prior leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
