Job Summary
Director of Construction – Austin, TX. Immediate career opportunity. Responsible for leading design‑build construction projects and managing a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, profitable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all aspects of the Ryan business model for construction, including design, engineering, preconstruction, and property management.
- Develop and nurture client relationships, delivering persuasive sales presentations and negotiating contracts to secure favorable business and legal terms.
- Guide, coach, and hold accountable a senior construction team, setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and promoting professional development.
- Ensure projects meet quality, design, and profitability targets while supporting corporate goals and initiatives.
- Coordinate with market sector leaders to balance workload, integrate sector and region talent, and align regional and divisional priorities.
- Identify and cultivate future talent; participate in recruiting, hiring, and talent development activities.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the local construction market and make strategic decisions that protect the company’s best business and legal interests.
- Provide timely and meaningful recognition to team members and celebrate customer satisfaction‑centered outcomes.
- Minimum 15 years of construction project management experience, including at least 8 years of design‑build project management in a design‑build environment.
- 10+ years of industry experience managing accounts ranging from $10M to $250M+.
- Bachelor’s degree in an industry‑related field.
- Proven ability to manage profitable teams and deliver results aligned with corporate plans.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills with a win‑win resolution focus.
