LOCATION. Remote. Must be available during core hours (10am-6pm ET) with occasional flexibility. Applicants may travel up to 40% of the time, with cost covered.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS.

  • $135,992 annualized salary

ROLE TYPE. Full‑time, at‑will, temporary role with benefits. Start date Monday, August 3; end date Friday, December 4.

About the opportunity

Vote Rev and Vote Rev Action Fund are hiring a Director, Organizing and Partnerships to lead deployment of relational mobilization tactics, coordinating with allied movement organizations.

Reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, the Director will operationally lead partner and canvass relationships, ensuring fidelity to program design and driving quality laborate day‑to‑day with the Director of Programs and senior staff across partner network.

Success means many canvassers implementing tactics with high fidelity, millions of voter contacts, and thousands of additional votes moved in key geographies.

Responsibilities
  • Partner relationship management and support
    • Develop and oversee relationships with senior stakeholders at partner organizations, supporting them to implement tactics at scale.
  • Program design and management
    • Manage partner program health through resource allocation, prioritization, and improvement throughout the cycle.
    • Direct or support partner vetting, contracting, training, and monitoring of paid canvass firms.
    • Work with Director of Operations and legal counsel to develop risk management systems.
    • Design and implement quality control systems to detect and prevent canvasser fraud.
    • Possibly run learning pilots in state primaries.
  • People and project management
    • Possibly manage a 1–3 person team, setting an engaged coaching tone.
    • Track relationship development and progress in agreed CRMs and goal trackers.
    • Collaborate with Program team to apply best practices.
  • Fundraising momentum and buy‑in
    • Create donor materials and provide timely updates on program design and performance.
  • Documentation and learnings
    • Report regularly to Department Heads on program performance.
    • Document all program aspects and present a retrospective after year end.
Requirements for the role
  • Campaign experience. Minimum 8 years in organizing, at Democratic campaigns or movement organizations, with at least one year campaign management on a federal or statewide race, or leadership as an Organizing Director.
  • Partner management. Demonstrated strategic conversations with senior stakeholders and managing professional relationships with external partners, vendors, or clients.
  • Paid canvass experience. Multiple cycles of vetting, contracting, and overseeing paid canvass firms.
  • Program and team management. Managing budgets, scaling complex logistics, and guiding a small team (1–3 people) with coaching orientation.
  • Research mindset. Curiosity and willingness to learn, adapting canvassing practices based on evidence.
  • Communication. Proactive, clear communicator bridging diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Availability. Core hours 10am–6pm ET; up to 40% travel required; travel costs covered.
Helpful but not required
  • Experience with tactic development and research
  • Experience selling or providing customer support on consulting or strategic services to political organizations
