II. Position Summary

The Head of Paid Search leads TCMS's paid search marketing efforts, driving client growth and maximizing ROI through strategic campaign management. This role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive paid search strategies, delivering measurable results, and managing client accounts. The position requires deep expertise in search engine marketing (SEM), a data-driven mindset, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships.

This role is accountable for delivering results in four key areas:

1. LMA (Lead, Manage, Accountable)

Provide leadership and direction to the paid search function, ensuring team performance and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Paid Search Support team member(s), fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
  • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities to build team capabilities
  • Ensure adequate capacity and resource allocation to meet client deliverables
  • Establish and maintain quality standards for all paid search work
  • Communicate team priorities, updates, and challenges to leadership
Success Metrics
  • Team members have clear goals and receive regular feedback
  • Professional development plans in place and progressing for all direct reports
  • Team capacity aligned with client workload requirements
  • High team engagement and retention
2. Paid Search Strategy

Develop and execute comprehensive paid search strategies that align with client business objectives and drive measurable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop customized paid search strategies for each client based on their goals, market, and competitive landscape
  • Identify and capitalize on new opportunities for growth within the paid search landscape
  • Stay current on search engine algorithm changes, platform updates, and industry best practices
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and platforms to improve campaign performance
  • Collaborate with other teams (SEO, content, client success) to ensure an integrated approach to digital marketing
  • Ensure all paid search activities comply with platform policies and industry standards
Success Metrics
  • All clients have documented, current paid search strategies
  • Strategies reviewed and updated quarterly or as market conditions change
  • New growth opportunities identified and presented to clients regularly
  • Successful adoption of new tools and technologies that improve results
3. Paid Search Results

Deliver measurable, high-quality results that demonstrate clear ROI for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of all paid search campaigns across platforms (Google Ads, Bing Ads, Local Service Ads)
  • Monitor campaign performance and make data-driven adjustments to achieve desired metrics
  • Analyze campaign performance data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement
  • Manage paid search budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate performance metrics to stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot and resolve campaign performance issues promptly
