Diversion Program Manager
The Diversion Program Manager will oversee the strategic management and operational oversight of our Gun Diversion Program within Travis County. He/She will ensure the effective distribution of services, manage a team of clinicians and collaborate with state attorneys, judges and external stakeholders to achieve program goals of community safety, reduction of rearrests and future violent-related incidents.
The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of local and state compliance requirements as well as strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. The Director will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency, accountability, and transparency of program services and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the diversion program aimed at addressing the causes of maladaptive behavior (ie illegal firearm possession) and subsequently reducing rearrests (recidivism).
- Develop, implement, and monitor the coordination of services from intake to discharge planning.
- Oversee program budgeting and ensure resources are appropriately allocated to achieve program goals of community safety, reduction of rearrests and future violet-related incidents
- Supervise and lead a team of clinicians responsible for the day-to-day execution of services, including Individual therapy, CBT group s and other recommended treatments per the assessments proven effective for behavior change.
- Identify training and professional development opportunities for team of clinicians to enhance clinical practices and program effectiveness.
- Foster a positive work environment and collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Ensure the diversion program adheres to best practices and is in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay abreast of legislative and development changes in policies to make "informed" program adjustments.
- Oversee service delivery to ensure program compliance.
- Ensure regular progress reports for attorneys and external stakeholders
- Assess the efficiency of required documentation.
- Use data and feedback to inform program decisions and service delivery.
- Serve as the liaison between operations and attorneys/ external stakeholders.
- Foster relationships with all stakeholders (judges, PO's, attorneys,)
- Represent GRO's Gun Diversion Program at local and state meetings, conferences, and working groups focused on diversion strategies and programs.
- Respond to and resolve complex or sensitive issues related to diversion operations, working collaboratively with clinical team and external stakeholders to find resolutions.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of diversion strategies and alternatives to incarceration, including state and federal regulations related to these programs.
- Proven experience in managing budgets and staff development.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams and external stakeholders
Leadership & Supervision:
- Provide leadership and direct supervision to a multidisciplinary team of community mental health professionals, ensuring high-quality care for individuals who can benefit from mental health services.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and training to ensure the professional growth and development of staff.
- Oversee case management, crisis intervention, and diversion program operations to ensure alignment with organizational goals and state regulations.
Texas Medicaid Billing & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Texas Medicaid billing guidelines, including managing proper documentation and billing processes for community mental health services.
- Stay up to date on Medicaid regulations and billing codes to ensure accurate claims submission and reimbursement.
- Provide oversight and training to staff on proper documentation practices, ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines.
Community Engagement & Stakeholder
Collaboration:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Travis County community, including local government agencies, healthcare providers, court systems, and advocacy groups.
