LocationState of Texas, Austin, Texas (Onsite). Local candidates within 50-mile radius only. Candidates must already reside in Texas.
Job OverviewThis position is responsible for maintaining coordination across numerous related initiatives and leading special projects as assigned by agency leadership. The role involves developing project management tools, maintaining project management data on critical and major projects, reporting progress on key projects to executive/senior staff, providing recommendations regarding project management practices to agency leadership, and reporting the status of key projects and accomplishments.
The position will also work with staff to initiate, sponsor, manage or participate in projects to maximize the success of multiple and diverse projects. Works under limited direction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
- Develop project management tools.
- Maintain project management data on critical and major projects.
- Report progress on key projects to executive/senior staff.
- Provide recommendations regarding project management practices to agency leadership.
- Report status of key projects and accomplishments.
- Initiate, sponsor, manage or participate in projects to maximize success of multiple and diverse projects.
- Create and deliver reports highlighting gaps in technology and operational processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors and stakeholders.
- Plan and facilitate meetings and group problem‑solving sessions.
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- 14+ years of experience.
- Experience managing multiple large‑scale projects across large organizations.
- Healthcare client experience, preferably Texas state healthcare clients.
- Strong ability to research, gather, analyze, and correlate data; identify solutions; prepare concise reports; and solve complex problems.
- Strong business process mapping and process improvement skills.
- Experience creating project documents such as SOWs, project charters, design documents, test plans, risk assessments, project budgets, schedules, work plans, resource plans, and cost estimates.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
