Area Manager, Management Operations Management

Pay or shift range: $65,000 USD to $75,000 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

Daiso Area Managers are responsible for maximizing company profits. As an Area Manager you will coordinate and evaluate the merchandising, operational, and expense control programs for your assigned stores. The Area Manager is responsible for meeting budgeted area revenue goals and will direct a store management team to ensure excellence in standards. You will provide leadership and vision to motivate the team to daily pursue the company mission and create a positive work culture.

Success depends on your ability to hire, train, and motivate your team in our fast‑paced, constantly changing and growing environment. You will lead up to 8 Daiso stores.

• Meeting and exceeding operational goals related to sales, profitability, and expenses through the implementation of established programs and processes.
• Accountable for achieving the sales plan and ensuring that the labor budget meets company goals.
• Maintaining effectiveness in work tasks; adjusting effectively to new work structures, processes, and requirements, ensuring completion of required tasks efficiently.
• Leading and inspiring stores to be product obsessed, customer-focused, innovative, fast-moving and team-oriented.
• Proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in sales and profitability, productivity, and customer experience through more effective operational processes.
• Maintaining relationships throughout the organization to provide further sources of productive collaboration and feedback to improve operational processes.
• People management – sourcing, recruiting, selecting, and developing diverse talent for the area.
• Managing operational budgets.
• Developing and implementing short‑ and long‑term goals.
• Participating in new store openings and future projects as needed.
• Demonstrating strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills with all levels of management.
• Handling Human Resource and Asset Protection issues.
• Traveling up to 25% of the time with occasional overnight stays.
• Must be able to relocate.

• Education:
  
  High School or GED required;
  Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience:
  
  At least 3‑5 years in retail, with at least 2 years of multi‑store experience.
• Strong experience in discount, grocery, drug store, or variety store multi‑unit management desired.
• Ability to build an effective team.
