Job DetailsWe are looking for a Director of Accounting to lead our accounting team. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and develop our accounting department. You will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. The ideal candidate must be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and an unflinching commitment to integrity and accuracy.
Responsibilities:- Ability to manage a geographically dispersed team responsible for all operational and GL accounting (ap, ar, payroll, etc.) for a multinational consolidation
- Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances
- Developing and implementing best practices for the accounting department to ensure efficient and seamless operations
- Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies and US GAAP
- Collaborating with the executive team to develop strategies, financial plans, and business intelligence tools.
- Leading the team in annual audits and liaising with external auditors
- Mentoring, coaching, and developing the accounting team to ensure a high level of competency, efficiency, and accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA required
- Ability to collaborate effectively in support of business/commercial interests
- Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Both mid and large company experience
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
