PURPOSE The Senior Physician Liaison, Provider Referral Management Office leads regional or service line–aligned provider relations programs and is accountable for performance in our South Region, extending roughly from Buda to Lockhart/San Marcos. This role operationalizes enterprise provider engagement and referral network strategies into scalable programs, delivers measurable improvements in access and referral performance. The Senior Physician Liaison serves as the primary bridge between strategy and execution—owning multi-site performance, leading cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring consistent, standardized delivery of provider engagement practices.
This role reports to the Director, Provider Referral Management Office and operates with high autonomy within the strategic direction set by PRMO leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES PROGRAM OWNERSHIP & STRATEGY OPERATIONALIZATION Translates enterprise provider relations strategy into regional or service line programs with defined goals, timelines, and performance targets.
Owns execution and performance of multi-market/provider network initiatives, ensuring alignment with access, growth, and patient experience priorities.
Standardizes tools, processes, and engagement approaches across assigned teams to enable scalability and consistency.
Identifies operational gaps and implements improvements to referral pathways, provider engagement models, and network effectiveness.
COMPLEX PROVIDER RELATIONSHIPS & MARKET SUPPORT Manages a portfolio of high-priority or complex provider relationships that are critical to service line growth or market performance.
Supports development of strategic partnerships in coordination with PRMO leadership and service line stakeholders.
Represents the organization in community and partner-facing settings to strengthen relationships and referral alignment.
Identifies opportunities to enhance referral pathways and reduce barriers to access within assigned scope.
MULTI-MARKET PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT Accountable for performance outcomes across assigned regions or service lines, including referral volume, leakage reduction, provider engagement, and access metrics.
Monitors and analyzes trends across markets; drives targeted interventions to improve underperforming areas.
Ensures alignment between provider engagement activities and operational capacity, access goals, and service line priorities.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL EXECUTION & OPERATIONAL ALIGNMENT Partners with the RCN Office, service line leaders, and operational teams to implement optimized referral workflows and provider-facing processes.
Leads or contributes to cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving access, care coordination, and referral conversion.
Ensures alignment between provider engagement efforts and operational capabilities.
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & INSIGHTS Monitors performance metrics (e.g., referral volumes, leakage, provider engagement) across assigned areas and identifies improvement opportunities.
Uses data to inform decision-making and recommend adjustments to strategies or execution approaches.
Provides regular reporting and insights to PRMO leadership to support broader strategic planning.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field6 years of progressive experience in provider relations
Experience leading complex projects, programs, or initiatives
Demonstrated leadership of staff or teams
Experience working across functions to drive outcomes in provider relations, network development, or healthcare operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in a related field8 years of progressive experience in provider relations
Experience supporting multi-site, service line, or regional provider relations efforts
Experience mentoring or supervising staff SALARY RANGE $84,338 + depending on qualifications
