Job Summary And Qualifications

Responsible for the day-to-day clinical, technical and operational functions within the Imaging department. This includes, but is not limited to, the efficient, effective procurement, utilization and stewardship of all technical, physical and human resources. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.

Assures competency of all personnel. Assists in formulating the budget. Must be capable of developing, interpreting and administering all policies, procedures and protocols of the department, hospital and partnership. Must maintain efficient and effective department operations while requiring compliance with all Joint Commission, state, federal, Corporate Radiation Right, and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. Must possess critical thinking skills and be capable of assuming complete departmental authority and responsibility in the absence of the Director.

Must strive to create and maintain great relationships with all facility stakeholders.

  • You will direct and participate in the human resource management function for the department by coordinating the selection, promotion, orientation and performance appraisal processes.
  • You will participate in disciplinary action and ongoing assessment of all staff within the Radiology Dept.
  • You will ensure availability of adequately trained/licensed staff to maintain departmental operations.
  • You will coordinate orientation for new employees and ensures completion of annual performance appraisal for clinical Radiology and support staff.
  • You will maintain flow of communication between all staff through monthly staff meetings, memos, bulletin boards, emails, and formal and/or informal discussions.
  • You will provide educational opportunities in accordance with mandatory requirements and departmental needs.
  • You will initiate, interpret, maintain and enforce Imaging Services policies and hospital policies and procedures. You will work with Hospital administration, Imaging Director & Staff Physicians on planning, organizing and directing Imaging Services operations and ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
