Position Summary

Huntleigh USA is seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Manager to oversee all operational, financial, and administrative functions at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). Reporting directly to the District Manager and/or Regional Director, the General Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction to ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, superior client service, and financial performance.

The ideal candidate will possess aviation security, passenger services, airport operations, or related management experience, along with strong leadership, human resources, financial management, analytical, and customer relationship skills. This position requires sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic airport environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the District Manager and/or Regional Director regarding daily operational performance and communicate with the Huntleigh USA Corporate Office as required.
  • Direct and oversee all Huntleigh USA operations at the assigned airport location and any ancillary facilities.
  • Supervise airport service programs which may include:
    • Skycap Services
    • Wheelchair Passenger Services
    • Aircraft Security
    • Ramp Security
    • Unclaimed Baggage Security
    • Vendor Screening
    • Catering Security
    • Charter Flight Pre-Board Screening
    • Other contracted airport services
  • Develop and maintain staffing plans and schedules to meet operational demands while optimizing productivity and revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of payroll records and maintain complete, compliant personnel and training documentation.
  • Manage the operation's annual budget and Profit & Loss (P&L) performance, including oversight of billing activities and support for collection efforts on outstanding accounts.
  • Immediately report unusual incidents, security concerns, operational disruptions, or other significant events to the District Manager, Regional Director, and Corporate Office.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as airport, airline, and Huntleigh USA policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Huntleigh USA, airline clients, airport authorities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of all employees.
  • Ensure timely communication of security directives, operational procedures, and company policies to employees, clients, and leadership teams.
  • Demonstrate exceptional professionalism, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills while handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Manage labor relations and collective bargaining agreement requirements where applicable.
