Job Title: Senior Product Manager / Platform Leader (Pay Pal)

Pay Pal makes billions of risk decisions every day. We are building the platform that powers them. The ideal candidate leads PMs and engineering across three continents with tight deadlines and massive customer impact.

• Establish a shared vision across the company for a portfolio of products or platform products enabling development and scalability, with a deliberate and cohesive strategy.
• Lead product strategy development and develop a clear, executable view of the product portfolio strategy with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Shape the architectural roadmap and balance innovative design with technical implementation, while considering regulatory requirements, time-to-market, customer needs, and product profitability.
• Champion the customer experience and prioritize customer needs in product requirements and decision making.
• Define and use metrics that inform product success, including usability studies, research, and market analysis.
• Standardize work streams to drive data-driven decision-making (analytics, customer discovery, market research, competitive analysis).
• Responsible for product portfolio profitability, including budgetary decisions.
• Lead operational mechanisms that drive execution and accountability (Product Reviews, Operating Reviews, Business Reviews). Interfaces with senior leadership as needed.
• Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are standard.

• 12+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of experience leading others.

• 12+ years in product management with at least 4 years at director level or above leading platform or infrastructure products.
• Proven track record shipping large cross-functional technical programs in production, not just owning roadmaps.
• Technical depth sufficient to earn the respect of engineers and pressure-test architectural decisions.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML platform components — model serving, feature engineering, or decisioning systems.
• Experience executing a live legacy system migration, including parity validation and production cutover.
• Strong instincts on scope and prioritization to make the call when the team cannot.
• Experience building and delivering global platforms within technology organizations.
• Experience defining a destination state and working backwards to an MVP.

The base pay for this role will depend on location and experience. The expected pay ranges by location are:

• San Jose, California: $ – $ annually
• Chicago, Illinois: $ – $ annually
• Austin, Texas: $ – $ annually

Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
