PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Quality Inspector in Austin, TX for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role is 100% onsite and focuses on inspecting and reworking electronic assemblies to ensure product compliance with quality standards and defect criteria. You will operate AOI and X-ray inspection equipment, analyze images to identify defects, and perform manual rework to correct issues while collaborating with the team to improve processes.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of work experience (or equivalent experience)

  • Knowledge of quality standards, inspection protocols, and defect criteria to ensure compliance with specifications

  • Experience with soldering techniques including SMT and through-hole soldering

  • Ability to operate AOI and X-ray machines to inspect circuit boards/surface-mount devices and analyze images to detect defects (shorts, opens, misalignments)

  • Ability to perform manual rework including cleaning shorts and correcting defects

  • Teamwork skills to collaborate on resolving assembly issues and improving processes

  • Willingness to participate in training and continuous learning to identify improvement opportunities

  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Austin, TX

Preferred Skills

  • Comfort using Windows-based computers and electronic documentation systems

  • IPC-A-610 knowledge

  • IPC-J-STD-001 knowledge

  • 2+ years of electronic assembly experience

  • Experience with X-ray, AOI, and SMT environments

What You'll Do

  • Inspect electronic assemblies using AOI and X-ray equipment to verify compliance with standards and specifications

  • Capture and analyze inspection images to identify defects such as shorts, opens, and misalignments

  • Perform manual rework to correct defects, including cleaning shorts and repairing workmanship issues

  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve assembly issues and support process improvements

  • Participate in training activities and apply continuous improvement practices to strengthen quality outcomes
