Job Summary
Responsible for daily cleaning of manufacturing and general storage areas, disassembling and reassembling equipment, removing waste, ensuring GMPs and safety regulations are followed, and operating cleaning equipment such as compactors, power washers, and pallet jacks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Disassemble and reassemble equipment, ensuring all parts remain attached and stored properly.
- Remove waste and place it in designated containers.
- Operate compactor systems (inedible and corrugated), understanding Hog Farmer and inedible bin requirements.
- Operate pallet jacks and power washers safely and efficiently.
- Keep product on the floor squeegeed/scooped and placed in the correct disposal bin.
- Minimize water usage to control overspray and cross‑contamination.
- Cover motors, electrical panels, and plugs with plastic bags during cleaning.
- Follow lockout/tag‑out procedures.
- Adhere to GMPs, USDA guidelines, and all sanitation SOPs.
- Report equipment concerns and hazards to supervisor or maintenance.
- Maintain correct PPE and arrive on time.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English (bilingual preferred).
- Physical ability to stand, reach, bend, climb steps/stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Work well with others and meet quality demands with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
- Experience with chemical usage and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to follow GMPs, lockout/tag‑out, and USDA guidelines.
Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Capability to assist on other lines and sanitation activities as needed.
- Travel throughout production areas, including refrigerated warehouses.
- Push, pull, and lift occasional heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.).
- Work flexible hours based on operational needs.
- Operate power washers if required.
The starting rate for this full‑time, hourly position is $19.50 + $2 shift differential. Pay varies by location and experience. Benefits include competitive health, dental, 401(k), and wellness programs beginning on the first day of employment.
