What To Expect

Tesla is seeking highly motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment to take on a wide range of manufacturing and development challenges. This individual will apply their technical skills to setup, operate, and adjust high volume production equipment. The Engineering Process Technician is a key member of the Operations Team and helps the Process Development Engineers develop innovative processes, equipment, and tooling to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

• Perform equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards for equipment in varying development stages.
• Identify problems and potential solutions to troubleshoot issues as they arise during regular production and engineering builds.
• Develop operating procedures for equipment or new processes in standard format.
• Conduct analytical tests, measure and record data using defined tools and software.
• Inspect and test finished product during and after regular production and engineering builds.
• Assemble and test manufactured goods for dedicated tooling and/or processes.

• Able to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics as well as engineering drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Excellent attention to detail, good organization, analytical and reasoning skills.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities including safety/ergonomic concerns and yield and delivery concerns. Lead problem solving for small improvement projects.
• Comfortable with frequent change of direction, a dynamic work environment, and a passion to perform time-sensitive analysis under pressure.
• Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel for up to 12 hours a day.
• Frequently and repetitively lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs.
• Frequently and repetitively bend, lift and reach.
• Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: PAPR, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines.
