The Sanmina facility in Austin, Texas provides precision machining and mechanical assembly services to customers. Precision machining capabilities include vertical milling, horizontal milling, and turning on a wide range of materials including aluminum, copper, composites, stainless titanium, and high alloy steel with a milling envelope of up to 60" x 50" x 40". The facility specializes in high-mix, low volume production and also offers subassembly, integration, New Product Introduction services, and clean room assembly.

Position is an experienced Technical PM with a strong background in the machining processes, including CNC machining, and electromechanical assembly techniques, to support the design and development of plans for production. This position involves both leading and supporting projects from concept definition, detailed design, process definition bid & proposal activities and development, prototyping and qualification phases, through to implementation into volume manufacturing.

Job Requirements

  • In-depth Technical Knowledge: Possess extensive knowledge of machining processes, including CNC machining, and electromechanical assembly techniques. Familiarity with a wide range of surface treatments and finishing processes is essential.
  • Rapid Project Planning and Execution: Rapidly generate plans for production and lead execution to ensure all customer requirements including quality and lead time are met.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and manufacturing personnel to identify and resolve complex manufacturing challenges. Communicate challenges and technical questions to customer engineering teams.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress, and generate regular reports to communicate project status to customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial) is preferred. Candidates with equivalent technical knowledge gained through extensive experience in a relevant field will also be considered. Minimum of 4years of direct and relevant experience.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for liaising with team members and customers, presenting technical information, and documenting project progress.
  • Hands-On Manufacturing

    Experience:

    Proven experience in a CNC machining and assembly environment, with practical knowledge of cutting tools, work holding, and fixture design.
  • Quality Control: Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and experience with inspection techniques to ensure product quality.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software, project management tools, and data analysis applications.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and creatively to identify and resolve technical challenges.
  • Leadership: Ability to motivate and guide team members to achieve project objectives.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Commitment to identifying opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.

Salary Range(annual): $70,000 - $95,000 . Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
