The position will work closely with QC/manufacturing to maintain the highest level of quality for all products. Role and responsibilities will include collecting and testing concrete and aggregate samples using routine methods and basic arithmetic computations. You will be required to adhere to all local, state, MSHA and environmental regulations as outlined in the Employee Safe Work Guidelines booklet, and any rules or information provided by the Company or customer sites.
WhatYou’ll Accomplish
- Perform all responsibilities safely.
- Collect aggregate samples.
- Perform routine testing of aggregate samples including quartering, running gradations, washes, moistures, and picking deleterious.
- Perform basic concrete QC tests: slump, air, temperature, sampling, cylinders, unit weight.
- Assist in the preparation and testing of laboratory concrete trial batches.
- Enter data into the aggregate and concrete quality reporting system.
- Perform routine housekeeping of laboratory.
- Perform additional projects and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Two-year technical degree preferred or three years in QC testing of construction materials in lieu of education.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Basic math and statistics skills.
- Ability to obtain ACI concrete and aggregate certifications as required.
- Excellent driving record.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including respirators.
- Maintain a clean‑shaven face where respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.
- Sitting, standing, walking for extended periods.
- Operate a motor vehicle.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, and stockpiles.
- Work at elevated heights.
- Tolerate noise, temperature, and environmental variations.
