Cell Quality Operations Manager

What to Expect

Tesla is looking for a Cell Quality Operations Manager to lead a large team of technicians and supervisors with a mission to ensure incoming and in-process quality for cell production in our Texas factory. The Manager will oversee all day-to-day quality operations to support manufacturing activities and execute our quality control plans. They will utilize their quality operations experience to coordinate inspections, testing, and validation of our products and processes.

What You'll Do

* Coordinate with engineering teams to define and execute quality control plans across all cell manufacturing operations

* Coordinate product and process inspections, validations, and audits throughout the factory

* Manage incoming quality validations and coordinate with supply chain teams and suppliers to continually improve incoming material quality

* Manage quality laboratory tools and equipment, including CMMs, vision inspection tools, CT scanners, and other high-precision measurement equipment

* Work with quality engineering and production teams to resolve ongoing or systemic quality operations issues

* Develop, coordinate, and execute OCAP procedures

* Onboard, mentor, and develop a large team of technicians, supervisors, and associate managers

* Define and drive KPIs and objectives and communicate along with key issues to executive leadership

What You'll Bring

* 7+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, within Quality, Process, or Production operations

* 5+ years of leadership experience including leading other leaders (supervisors or other managers)

* Proven ability to build and lead a strong team in a 24x7 manufacturing environment

* Demonstrated knowledge of key quality engineering principles

* Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize in highly dynamic production environment

* Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

* Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances

* Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail

* Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions

* Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
