Shift Supervisor (Manufacturing) – Austin, TX
Position Overview
We are seeking a driven and experienced Shift Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations at our Austin facility. This role is responsible for managing personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure optimal performance while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, production, and efficiency
.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, demonstrates excellent decision‑making skills, and can motivate cross‑functional teams to achieve operational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all daily shift operations, ensuring production targets are met
- Supervise and manage 30+ employees in a manufacturing environment
- Enforce standards across:
- Quality
- Production
- Monitor production equipment to ensure maximum performance
- Track and record labor, scrap, and finished goods to maintain accurate inventory
- Train, coach, and develop team members while overseeing on‑the‑job training
- Assign work, evaluate performance, and address employee issues, including discipline and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures and policies, including quality standards (e.g., TS-16949)
- Promote and enforce workplace safety, including OSHA compliance
- Serve as the initial point of contact for employee‑related issues and investigations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2–5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate teams
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills
- High energy with a proactive, hands‑on leadership style
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Moderate noise levels typical of industrial settings
- Ability to:
- Stand, walk, and use hands regularly
- Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Perform physical movements such as bending, crouching, and reaching
