Sirius Staffing is seeking Gas Manufacturing Technicians for a position in Austin, TX. This role will start out on days, then transition to night shift. You must be willing to work TO WORK BOTH DAY & NIGHT SHIFT.
$21.68/HR + 10%-night shift differential (when transitioned after training)
For the first 60-90 days, the schedule will be M-F (8 hrs.) 7am-3pm, with a one-hour lunch break. After training, you will transition to night shift.
We are seeking Manufacturing Technicians that will provide on-site gas and chemical/slurry management. This is a challenging, hands‑on, and rewarding job opportunity for individuals seeking to join a growing business in a career‑focused role.
This position offers on-the-job training for quickly learning critical technical skills to excel in this role and be considered for conversion to permanent, as determined by needs.
Technicians work on systems and maintain a supply of chemicals and gases to a semiconductor manufacturing environment that makes the chips used in electronic devices such as smartphones, LEDs, and flat‑screen TVs.
Responsibilities- Handling and change‑out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers
- Gas and chemical equipment troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance
- Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs
- Support of quality systems
- Walking up to 5 or 6 miles per day
- May occasionally need to climb a tanker truck (18‑wheeler) while using fall protection, to off‑load chemicals into a drum
- In some cases, Technicians must put on a Supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator (this type of respirator provides air from a cylinder through a mask connected to the cylinder) while working with chemicals (approx. 10‑15 minutes)
- Basic lifting (up to 40lbs)
- Bending of the knees and overhead reaching
- PPE provided for workers includes safety glasses, hard hats, earplugs, chemical aprons, gloves, etc.
- Must be willing to maintain a clean‑shaven appearance, for Respiratory use, when needed.
The worker will be provided a voucher to purchase safety boots, which they are required to wear.
Minimum Qualifications- Safety experience and preferred certifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Driver's license
- Must be able to clearly communicate, read and write in English
- Prior experience in maintenance or as an equipment technician.
- Experience in a mechanical or electronic environment is a plus
- Strong technical aptitude
- Previous experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills
