Additive Manufacturing Technician (SLS & EBM)

As a skilled Additive Manufacturing Technician with hands‑on experience in Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Electron Beam Melting (EBM) you will support production of orthopedic and implantable medical devices. This role is responsible for operating powder‑bed fusion systems, ensuring consistent part quality, and maintaining compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 standards. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and efficient availability of materials to meet patient and healthcare provider needs.
You will be responsible for production, managing inventory levels, and overseeing machine operations.
- Operate and monitor SLS systems such as the EOS P110
- Prepare and verify build files using EOSPRINT or equivalent software
- Perform powder handling, sieving, blending, and material refresh management
- Conduct depowdering and post‑processing operations
- Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and surface quality
- Maintain build logs and material traceability documentation

- Operate EBM systems such as the Arcam EBM Q10plus
- Load and prepare titanium powder under controlled environments
- Perform machine setup including vacuum system checks and beam calibration
- Conduct powder recovery and recycling procedures
- Support heat treatment and HIP coordination
- Ensure lot traceability for implantable components
- Identify and implement process improvements guided by continuous improvement principles (EGX)
- Provide regular updates and reports on daily management boards for KPI’s
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and regulatory reviews
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience handling metal powders (titanium alloys preferred)
- Understanding of powder‑bed fusion process parameters
- Familiarity with GD&T and inspection tools
- Strong documentation skills in regulated manufacturing environments
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and present findings to management.
- Detail‑oriented mindset and eager to learn with a focus on accuracy and problem‑solving.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with SLS and/or EBM systems.
- Some experience with inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
