Electronics Technician
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Test Technician in Austin, TX for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports production testing of electronic assemblies, including setup, troubleshooting, and calibration of test equipment. You will work hands-on with PCB assemblies to ensure product performance and quality.
Required Skills
- Requires two (2) years of High School or Trade School education
- At least 2 years of experience testing PCB boards in a manufacturing environment
- Experience troubleshooting and problem solving at the component level
- Experience with hand soldering
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and work instructions
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and RF analyzers
- Ability to use hand tools, small power tools, and measuring devices
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to become solder certified
Preferred Skills
- IPC-A-610 and J-STD certifications
- Completion of J-Standard Modules 1, 3, and 6
- Experience with statistical process control or quality verification processes
What You'll Do
- Set up test apparatus and conduct tests on production assemblies and units
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues at the component level
- Adjust and calibrate systems as required
- Modify equipment by adding or removing components based on specifications
- Perform repairs by replacing or adjusting defective parts
- Use test instruments to verify performance and quality of assemblies
- Read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
- Support production teams to ensure product quality and reliability
Work Schedule / Shift
- 4/10 schedule, 2nd shift
