Material Handler / Forklift Operator

Join an innovative, fast-growing start-up as a Material Handler / Warehouse Associate and play a key role in moving equipment, products, boxes, and parts throughout a new manufacturing facility. In this role, you support the coordination of incoming equipment, help establish operations in a new site, and work closely with manufacturing and facilities teams. This position is ideal for someone with strong forklift and warehousing experience who enjoys problem solving, thrives in a dynamic environment, and brings a professional, positive attitude to a purpose-driven organization.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently to move equipment, products, boxes, and parts between designated locations within the facility.
  • Handle heavy-duty lifting and moving of equipment and parts, including rearranging and organizing materials to support production and facility needs.
  • Support the coordination and staging of incoming equipment as the organization sets up and expands operations in a new facility.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and facilities teams to ensure materials, tools, and equipment are in the right place at the right time.
  • Perform general material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, packing, and organizing inventory and warehouse areas.
  • Use basic computer skills and Microsoft applications to track inventory, update records, and support warehouse documentation and processes.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, following established safety procedures and best practices for forklift operation and material handling.
  • Adapt to changing priorities in a start-up environment and assist with process roll-outs, new workflows, and evolving operational needs.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with team members, contributing to a positive, collaborative, and solution-focused culture.
  • Proactively identify and help resolve issues related to material flow, storage, and equipment placement, using strong problem-solving skills.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2+ years of recent warehousing experience operating a forklift.
  • Proven experience moving, lifting, and rearranging heavy equipment or parts.
  • Demonstrated skill in sit-down forklift operation.
  • Ability to safely perform heavy duty lifting and moving, including lifting 50+ lbs.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory-related tasks.
  • Professionalism and a consistently positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to interact effectively across teams.
  • Proactive, go-getter mindset with the ability to work within ambiguity and adapt to change.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities, especially in evolving or less-defined processes.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in the early stages of a start-up company.
  • Background in or exposure to manufacturing or assembly environments.
  • Hobbies or personal interest in working on mechanical projects in spare time.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
  • Experience with inventory, packing, and general warehouse operations.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing work environment and contribute to process roll-outs.
