Manufacturing Technician – Austin, Texas (18‑month contract)
Applied Materials.
Shifts and Pay- $22–$25 per hour
- First Shift, Second Shift, and Fourth Shift
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering technician role.
- 2+ years of experience.
- High school diploma or associate degree.
- Mechanical skills.
- Electrical/Electronic skills.
- Manufacturing & assembly skills.
- Troubleshooting ability.
- Physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and operating in tight spaces; ability to use hand tools and heavy machinery such as forklifts; ability to distinguish colors; tolerance to a noisy environment; and use of PPE for clean‑room work.
- Knowledge of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, face shields).
- Utilize work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists to build, repair, and test electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum, and pneumatic assemblies.
- Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Identify and correct errors.
- Observe all safety standards and maintain a secure, clean work environment.
- Follow operating instructions, use protective equipment when required, and use equipment and materials properly.
- Actively strive to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Use test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors, and/or vacuum pumps to test assemblies and components.
- Enter data on computer terminals (e.g., progress, work expense, labor details).
- Perform computer programming, repair, or software tasks as needed.
- Document finished work details.
- Receive parts and perform audits to ensure necessary parts are available for building, testing, and repair.
- Inspect parts for defects.
- Troubleshoot and improve processes.
- Maintain physical work standards and safety practices, including use of PPE and clean‑room protocols.
