Location/ Division Specific Information
Located in Austin, TX, this position entails assisting the Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) with relevant experience in GSD or a similar field.
Discover Impactful WorkOur Sr Manufacturing Technician team members are responsible for ensuring high-quality production in our downstream filling and packaging departments. This includes filling, capping, labeling, and assembling both sub-assemblies and finished goods. You will be vital in maintaining our world‑class standards and helping us compete on a global scale. Many tasks will be performed in a clean manufacturing environment, adhering strictly to safety protocols with personal protective equipment (PPE).
ADay in the Life
- Complete manufacturing tasks with precision and consistency
- Fill, cap, and label vials, bottles, and tubes following established procedures for flawless products
- Communicate and collaborate effectively to ensure daily production goals are met
- Work in standard and clean room environments, adhering to PPE requirements
- Safely operate both manual and automated filling equipment
- Complete Thermo Fisher Scientific training requirements on time and align with all ISO and regulatory standards
- Interact with internal personnel to ensure smooth operations and customer happiness
- Recognize and address deviations from accepted practices
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential to prevent non‑conforming products
- Maintain strong attendance and punctuality
- Participate in one‑on‑one training until proficient
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed
- Perform audits of peers work to ensure quality standards are being met in production areas
- Review batch binders to ensure GDP quality standards are being met
- Oversee on the job training activities
- Escalation support for peers during the production day
- Must have a high school diploma or similar relevant experience
- Experience in a life sciences manufacturing environment is a plus
- Proven ability to follow policies, procedures, and schedules independently
- Adaptability in a fast‑paced, changing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to lift/move objects: 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, 50 lbs occasionally
- Operate semi‑automated and manual filling equipment
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment
