Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Material Coordinator located in Austin, TX (1st Shift: 8:00am‑5:00pm, Mon‑Fri). Typical day: computes amount of material required to complete job orders.
Responsibilities- Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with purchasing to define adequacy of raw materials.
- Requisition s material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to production plan, job order priorities and material availability, avoiding excess inventory positions.
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Arranges in‑plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules, moving or transporting materials from one department to another.
- Compiles and maintains both manual and computerized records such as material inventory, in‑process production reports, and status and location of materials.
- Creates, updates, executes, and analyzes reports.
- Gathers data, tracks, posts and pitches for action plans and root analysis.
- Prioritizes data entry activities.
- Monitors and controls movement of material and parts for accurate inventory.
- Writes procedures and updates them in document control.
- Follows all distribution related ISO procedures and Material Handling Guidelines.
- Conducts training sessions for departments’ MRP procedures.
- Administers the inventory cycle count program, reconciles discrepancies, resolves issues, and analyzes inventory cycle count reports.
- Identifies parts and supplies that need to be ordered to maintain specified stocking levels.
- Analyzes stock usage and defines correct stocking levels.
- Investigates unusual high usage of materials and parts and suggests methods to correct the problem found.
- Stocks and issues materials or merchandise.
- In charge of adding new part numbers to current inventory based on input from manufacturing.
- Verifies the accuracy of the material kit versus the pick list for correct parts by checking that all parts are packaged and contained in the kit.
- Tracks defect levels on inspected kits, calculates quality performance, charts results, develops process improvements and schedules work of others.
- Completion of secondary school, vocational training, or equivalent with experience in the use of computer applications.
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience within the materials, planning or related function.
- Proficiency with office software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages and database systems.
- Experience with inventory management, BAAN or other ERP systems, and inventory cycle count.
- Demonstrated functional skills and basic process knowledge, with participation in process improvement initiatives.
