Forklift Operator, Material Handler
Loads trucks according to load charts and processes receiving paperwork.
Essential Functions- Load trucks accurately within prescribed timelines as per load charts.
- Read load charts and bill of lading.
- Complete paperwork promptly and accurately, including Bill of Lading (BOL), Sales Orders and Pre‑load Inspection forms.
- Perform product consolidations and BIN transfers, using a forklift when required.
- Operate a stand‑up forklift safely; complete forklift inspections and check‑sheets before use.
- Perform scheduled and impromptu inventory cycle counts.
- Follow all company rules, including SOPs, GMPs, Safety, PPE and all rules prescribed by the USDA and FDA.
- Perform other related duties and special assignments as required or assigned by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic math skills; able to read, write, and speak English.
- Minimum of 6 months material handling experience in a warehouse environment; previous inventory control experience desirable (SAP, etc).
- Must be able to drive a stand‑up forklift and be certified as a forklift driver.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Work in a freezer environment for long periods of time.
- Travel throughout production areas and stand for long periods.
- Push, pull, and lift heavy loads up to 75 lbs.
- Work flexible hours based upon operational needs.
The following procedures will be performed:
1. Safety Rules and GMPs in area
2. Product Quality Standards
3. Production Personal Protective Equipment.
The starting rate for this full‑time, hourly position is $18.55 per hour. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
