G.L. Hunt is expanding and adding a Production Manager to our Austin Location! The Production Manager is responsible for the entire production process of the company. They will coordinate all activities related for the entire process of the construction jobs. The Production Manager is responsible for seeing that all jobs are scheduled and completed on time, on budget, and with a high level of quality.

The Production Manager will represent the company for all production related items. Complete customer satisfaction is the goal.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures compliance with all company rules, policies, and agreements
  • Supervises field staff and subcontractors
  • Oversees the quality at each production step
  • Document company procedures and policies as they change
  • Report to management on the day-to-day review of projects and staff
  • Once the job has been sold and turned in by the sales department, then the production manager will check the job in detail for accuracy of scope of work, proper signatures, and checking all costs to determine how long a job should take, which formen is best suited to complete the job in a timely manner, and is this a profitable job for both the company and the sub contractor.
  • Once the job has been accepted by the company, the Production Manager contacts the customer to review the scope of work, set the next step expectations, go over upsell opportunities, and schedule a production date with them. Follow this conversation with the What to Expect email.
  • The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production schedule is accurate and profitable
  • The Production Manager then sets up the job to be ready for construction. This will include ordering a dig test, a cursory as needed, a permit as needed, and opening the job in Service Titan.
  • The foreman packet will be put together and reviewed with the foreman to iron out all details and any potential problems before the job begins. If there are potential problems or questions, the Production Manager will contact the Project Manager and/or the Sales Manager to resolve them before the job starts.
  • The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that communication between the customer and subcontractor is maintained, and notes are being put in the system.
  • During the job, the Production Manager will communicate with the Quality Control Inspector to discuss any issues or simply to make sure the file is being updated with notes and communication is passed down the chain as needed.
  • The Production Manager will also ensure that the routine change orders are created in a timely manner, sent to the customer, signed, and then approved to move forward with the subcontractor.
  • The Production Manager works to maintain an adequate workforce of subcontractors to meet the needs of the company. They will go over our standardized products and systems, develop a relationship, and go over pricing.
  • The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the company vehicles, tools, and equipment, including their maintenance and in good operating condition. Please communicate with the Controller on this process.
  • Upon completion of the job, the Production Manager oversees that the post completion checklist is being done, including the foreman packet has been received and reviewed for accuracy, there are post elevation readings on the pier map and and change order adjustments made, the post plumbing test has been order, final engineer report, the permit has been closed, and everything has been uploaded to the customer file.
  • The Project Manager needs to be available as an on-call situation when he/she is not in the office to answer any 911 questions pertaining to the current job.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a background in construction planning and forecasting.
  • Must have management experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems and CRMs (Service Titan).
  • Bilingual Spanish speakers are a plus.
Compensation:

$90,000 - $100,000
