Job Overview
The Integrated Entities Lead Communications Specialist is the business partner responsible for developing and implementing strategic employee and external communications plans for selected entities within the DPR Family of Companies. This role ensures that all communications efforts align with business objectives, measure results, and demonstrate impact to inform continued improvement.
Responsibilities- Develop and lead implementation of communications plans that align enterprise‑wide and entity goals, positioning related entities as the preferred choice and connecting core audiences to our purpose.
- Serve as an expert across communications disciplines, engaging extended Comms + Brand expertise as needed; collaborate closely with business leaders, Sales & Marketing teams, and People Practices to align priorities and incorporate them into communications strategy and plans.
- Actively contribute to employee and external communications strategy and execution for the related entities.
- Collaborate with other communications team professionals to share successes, repurpose existing resources, and align campaigns for maximum engagement and efficiency.
- Media & Influencer Relations: liaise with thought leaders, project teams, and marketing and BD colleagues to mine stories and provide guidance on content development opportunities with key stakeholder groups; maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape, including competitive messaging and share of voice.
- Content Creation: collaborate with leadership and employees to develop fresh, compelling content that celebrates our work, our people, and our culture; produce content that gives employees access to the information they need for a successful and fulfilling career; regularly demonstrate strong writing skills tailored to audience and voice; regularly visit project jobsites to meet with teams and surface and develop content for earned, shared, and owned channels;
partner across the Comms + Brand team to extend the reach and impact of content through new channels and media and work with the global team to scale entity content and contribute to the team’s editorial calendar. - Business Acumen & Industry Engagement: develop a deep understanding of company culture, the business, and related industries, and help build and sustain an authentic message and reputation that increases brand value and produces truly great results; advance standards by playing a meaningful role in company‑wide initiatives such as National Safety Week, Women in Construction Week, Construction Inclusion Week, and National Engineering Week;
support Community and Global Social Responsibility initiatives; get involved in organizations (e.g., PRSA, Ragan Leadership Council) that advance understanding of communication and/or AEC industry trends. - Measurement & Reporting: establish standardized KPIs to measure employee communications; regularly collect and analyze data to understand communications tactics and performance; research and leverage data and analytics to drive continuous improvement in communications investments and provide an integrated quarterly update.
- 10+ years of experience in business‑to‑business communications; AEC industry experience is a plus.
- Experience writing and publishing content, including newsletters, professional presentations, blogs, and social media articles.
- Ability to manage multiple internal stakeholders and tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet and enforce deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational, meeting facilitation, and communication skills (written, oral, and visual), with the ability to lead meetings with other local business leaders.
- Use data to inform decisions and frequently share results and impact.
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; competency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus.
- Availability to travel.
