Student Assistant for The Brumley Institute for Graduate Entrepreneurship
The Brumley Institute for Graduate Entrepreneurship is seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Student Assistant to support the content and marketing efforts of our center's entrepreneurship programs and initiatives. This role is ideal for a student interested in content creation, digital communications, and entrepreneurship education.
The Student Assistant will help maintain and update marketing materials, support course and program recruitment efforts, assist with content scheduling, and capture photos at events throughout the semester.
The Brumley Institute for Graduate Entrepreneurship works across campus - and beyond the 40 Acres - to empower graduate students, alumni, and Austin startups to pursue entrepreneurship, whether that's through launching new ventures, scaling existing businesses, or inspiring innovation within the ecosystem. We run 3 for-credit courses at the graduate student level, as well as a number of co-curricular events and programs like the TVL Investment Competition.
Responsibilities- Assistant to the Communications Specialist
- Update and maintain evergreen marketing and recruitment materials in Canva and related creative platforms
- Schedule social media content through the center's content management system (CMS)
- Work with the Communication Specialist to assist with semester-cycle communications for courses, programs, and events
- Capture real-time photos and content at the center's events and student activities
- Work with Communications Specialist to support general communications for entrepreneurship programming
- Ensure branding and messaging consistency across materials and platforms
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours.
- Availability to work approximately 10–15 hours per week throughout the semester
- Experience using a content management system (CMS)
- Experience with Canva or similar creative/design platforms
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to manage recurring tasks and meet deadlines
- Interest in entrepreneurship, startups, innovation, or business
- Experience with photography or event content capture
- Experience with event registration platforms such as Eventbrite
- Familiarity with social media content scheduling and digital communications

- Work performed in standard office conditions.
- Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.
- Hybrid attendance, in-office at least 1-2 days per week
- 10 - 15 hours per week
- Position ends on 12/31/2026
- Some evening event coverage may be required, but can be flexible around class or coursework as needed
