Job Summary

TrendAI™ is seeking a Director of Threat Research Insights to lead the team delivering threat research to the world. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Marketing, the Director will drive editorial and publishing strategy, operational oversight, and bridge research with business teams. The role requires people leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to translate complex research into compelling communications.

Responsibilities
  • Own the long‑term editorial strategy and content roadmap, including mapping core thematic pillars that support company goals.
  • Own the publishing strategy to amplify technical threat research across all company channels.
  • Establish and enforce the TrendAI voice and tone, creating an editorial style guide to ensure consistent brand identity across digital, audio, video, and print platforms.
  • Collaborate with full‑time threat researchers to identify, prioritize, and surface research that matters most to each audience.
  • Lead, grow, and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning publication, social, events, and internal awareness functions.
  • Manage the research blog and research social media presence, setting editorial direction, quality standards, and publication cadence.
  • Collaborate with TrendAI evangelists to shape how TrendAI research appears at industry events and before the security community.
  • Run the internal awareness function that bridges threat research with the rest of the company, ensuring colleagues understand and can act on our research.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing, research leadership, and communications partners to align messaging, timing, and priorities.
  • Support performance and ROI optimization, collaborating with cross‑functional teams in SEO/GEO, social media, growth marketing, and PR; tracking metrics and conducting content audits and reviews.
  • Provide executive reporting that translates editorial successes to business outcomes for the C‑suite.
Qualifications (Must‑have)
  • Deep knowledge of the information security industry, with technical understanding to engage credibly with researchers and translate their work for varied audiences.
  • Current, in‑depth command of the information security landscape, actively engaged with the research community, the evolving threat environment, and industry conversations.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience across security, communications, marketing, or related fields.
  • Proven people‑leadership experience – 5+ years managing teams, including managing other managers or team leads.
  • Strong communications background – able to turn complex technical research into clear, compelling content across formats and channels.
  • Business acumen – able to set strategy, prioritize, and connect the team’s work to broader business goals.
Desired Skills
  • Hands‑on technical security background (threat research, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or similar).
  • Experience working with or alongside a research organization.
  • Experience building or running an internal communications / awareness program.
