Content Associate (Graduate Assistant) - UT Social Work
This is an in-person Graduate Assistant position supporting the Communications and Marketing team. Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate degree program at The University of Texas at Austin and maintain eligibility for Graduate Assistant employment throughout the appointment period. The selected candidate must be available to work during regular business hours between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Purpose:UT Social Work is looking for a Content Associate (GA role) who will report to the Director of Brand Management. Our position reaches out to those we serve over a variety of platforms and creates meaningful content regarding our services for strategic alignment. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable with magazine and flyer graphic creation, particularly through Adobe Suite tools.
Job Responsibilities:- Create graphics and visuals to support the internal and external communications of UT Social Work
- Assist in the design and production of The Utopian, a twice-annual alumni magazine publication
- Promote UT Social Work through all avenues of communication design, including print products, flyers, web pages, and e-newsletters
- Design collateral to be used in social media posts (with particular focus on Instagram and Linked In), print publications, digital content, internal advertisements, and other outlets
- Other duties as assigned
A minimum 1-year commitment is requested.
Required Qualifications:- Current graduate student enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Eligible for Graduate Assistant employment under University policy.
- No concurrent UT employment at the time of appointment.*
- No scholarship or funding restrictions that prohibit employment at UT Austin.
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, and administrative skills.
- Experience supporting events, workshops, or special projects.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, including Instagram and Linked In.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and other digital productivity tools.
- Strong creative, design, and visual communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Receptive to feedback and eager to learn new skills and approaches.
* Teaching Assistant (TA) appointments may be held concurrently; however, Graduate Assistant hours will be limited to 10 hours per week in accordance with University policy.
Preferred Qualifications:- Familiarity with Wordpress CMS
- Studying graphic design, journalism, advertising, communications or other related field
Salary Range: $21.93 per hour
Work Schedule:
Up to 20 hours per week. Hours will be scheduled during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
