Position Title: Ameri Corps Summer Bridge Coach
College Possible Texas seeks 18 Ameri Corps Summer Bridge Coaches who are current collegians or team members to assist the organization with improving program design from a youth-driven perspective. From May – July 2026 members will each serve more than 300 hours to help expand college access for low-income and first-generation students, while gaining professional skills and earning an Education Award upon successful completion of term requirements.
Summer Bridge Coaches will help more than 650 entering college freshmen select and register for classes, secure financial aid, and finalize freshman orientation and campus housing.
Together, these individuals will work closely and plan strategically to meet organizational objectives in a timely manner. Summer Bridge Coaches will be expected to build and maintain congenial professional relationships internally and externally and will represent College Possible Texas to the public. Successful applicants will possess a sincere interest in helping empower other youth to pursue higher education.
Ameri Corps Benefits:

NOTE:
Mandatory pre-service orientation will take place during the first week of service. Members are also required to meet for staff meetings on a monthly basis. This position will have recurring access to vulnerable populations. In addition, all Ameri Corps members are required to be easily identifiable as Ameri Corps Members. Members must wear the Ameri Corps logo, visibly, daily.
In the event of a local, state, or federal disaster declaration, Ameri Corps members may be asked on a volunteer basis or be required by One Star to activate to assist in disaster response and recovery activities within their communities. This may involve virtual service opportunities or in-person service opportunities. This may include service opportunities outside of the member s standard service hours or in place of their standard service duties.
In the event of a large-scale, high needs local, state, or federal disaster, Ameri Corps members may voluntarily or be required by One Star to deploy to an area outside of their service area to assist in disaster response and recovery activities.
- Research program-specific needs and conduct outreach to other College Possible Texas students.
- Provide students direct college transition mentoring and support in areas including, but not limited to: orientation, course registration, and financial aid/FAFSA issues. Conduct research, provide referrals, arrange meetings, and accompany students to appointments as necessary.
- Assist College Possible Texas staff and leadership team with program design improvement.
- Represent the organization to school personnel, professional organizations, educators, funders, and the public.
- Ensure program compliance with administrative policies and procedures, including FERPA.
- Organize and maintain up-to-date files; coordinate and maintain database and spreadsheet files, producing frequent reports.
- Coordinate with the supervisor to order, maintain, and inventory program supplies and files.
- Think and plan strategically to support organizational stability and success.
- Respect and maintain organizational mission, ethos, and core values.
- Coordinate volunteers and/or students as necessary at organizational and/or service events.
