JOB DESCRIPTION:
Senior Development Manager
MUST RESIDE IN AUSTIN, TX
OverviewThis person plays a vital role in all aspects of fundraising, events, and development programs for Heart Gift. This position will report to the VP of Marketing and Fund Development, fulfilling short- and long-term goals guided by the strategic plan, which is consistent with the organization’s mission and overall strategic objectives. This person is responsible for supporting and maintaining relationships with new and existing partnerships and for donor management, including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and prospective donors, corporate partners, major gift solicitation, third-party, and peer-to-peer fundraising.
The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of accomplishment in fundraising.

Full-Time
Travel: 10-15%
Responsibilities- Execute annual fundraising strategies to meet fundraising goals
- Work with VP and CEO to implement effective, long-term strategic plan
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts donors and planned gift prospects through intentional cultivation
- Execute 1:1 donor cultivation and stewardship plans
- Plan and oversee execution of special events, including donor tracking, budgets, logistics, live and silent auctions, raffles, sponsorship, in-kind donations, and other revenue enhancers
- Prepare and present regular reports on progress toward fundraising goals
- Network and maintain regular correspondence with donors
- Ensure all commitments to donors are fulfilled
- Research and manage other fundraising opportunities (Corporate/Community Foundations)
- Provide leadership and career development to Development Specialist
- Support the Development Specialist in projects, including volunteer and third-party events
- Represent and speak on behalf of the organization at partner events
- Collaborate with the chapter fundraising staff to ensure consistency in Heart Gift’s fundraising strategies
- Partner with Finance to enhance and maintain gift processing policies and procedures, as well as to ensure thorough and accurate record-keeping
- Support other projects deemed as necessary
- Establish and maintain appropriate Development policies and procedures
- Organizational expert on Better Unite – event fundraising tool
- Maintain accurate donor records in Raiser’s Edge
- Responsiveness to emails, phone calls from internal and external partners in a timely manner
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to independently lead projects from beginning to end
- Assist in preparation of budgets
- Write effective meeting reports that summarize decisions made and actions to be taken on specific projects and assignments in a timely manner
- Open communication to ensure compliance of policies/ guidelines
- Support of Heart Gift chapters as necessary
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in email/calendar/meeting request programs/remote login/Raiser's Edge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

- Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related field preferred
- 3-5 years proven track record in major gift fundraising, supervision, and leadership of a non-profit development team
- Confident in making fundraising asks
- Attend Heart Gift events
- Represent organization when necessary
- Some travel, nights, and weekend work required
