General Notes: This is a grant‑funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
Purpose: This Senior Outreach Program Coordinator will lead statewide outreach for the Texas Foster Youth Network (TXFYN). Supervise outreach staff, build partnerships, elevate youth voices, manage communications, and ensure trauma‑informed, accessible engagement with foster youth and providers across Texas.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a statewide outreach plan in collaboration with the Project Director and the Texas Foster Youth Network (TX‑FYN) team. Assist with recruitment and support members of the Youth Advisory Council and Advisory Group. Ensure lived experiences inform the design of TX‑FYN. Develop outreach materials and ensure accessibility.
- Represent TX‑FYN at statewide conferences, professional meetings, and community events to promote awareness and build credibility. Develop and maintain relationships with community‑based organizations, workforce boards, Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), transition centers, and other key partners to expand the network. Lead planning for youth‑led focus groups.
- Provide supervision for two full‑time outreach specialists and one resource specialist. Collaborate with the Project Director to develop and maintain a statewide service directory and referral guide. Ensure all outreach activities are delivered with trauma‑informed and culturally responsive practices.
- Collect, analyze, and report outreach metrics (e.g., number of events, attendees, youth engaged, partnerships developed) to support evaluation and funder reporting.
- Participate in institute functions such as trainings, supervision, staff meetings, and events. Other activities and duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in communications, social work, or a related field with at least 5 years of experience in outreach and/or community engagement.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Values the contributions of others in the work environment.
- Knowledge of or experience with systems impacting foster youth.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English (verbal and written).
- Experience working in youth-focused programs.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed practices and youth development.
- Supervisory experience, preferably in a youth‑facing or crisis support role.
Salary Range: $70,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions- May work around standard office conditions.
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
- M-F, flexible between 8am-6pm.
