Outreach Specialist – Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing
Position Overview: Support the development and maintenance of the Texas Foster Youth Network’s statewide service directory and provider network, engaging providers and supporting youth- and provider-facing outreach activities.
Responsibilities- Conduct outreach to providers through calls, emails, and site visits; serve as a point of contact for questions; encourage active participation in TXFYN.
- Attend outreach events, regional meetings, and community fairs to promote TXFYN, recruit providers, and strengthen community relationships.
- Update and maintain the statewide service directory and referral tracking system, ensuring provider information is accurate, complete, and current.
- Prepare materials, schedule meetings, track follow‑up tasks, and assist with MOU coordination to support partnership development. Assist with the preparation and distribution of outreach materials. Support provider training efforts through logistics, material development, and attendance tracking.
- Collect and report outreach metrics, monitor activity progress, and ensure provider engagement remains trauma‑informed, youth‑centered, and culturally responsive.
- Participate in institute functions such as trainings, supervision, staff meetings, and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in outreach and/or community engagement.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Values the contributions of others in the work environment.
- Knowledge of or experience with systems impacting foster youth.
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed practices and youth development.
- Lived or work experience in foster care.
- Experience with systems impacting foster youth.

Hours:
40 - Work Shift:
Monday–Friday, flexible between 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. - Salary Range: $65,000 – $75,000, depending on qualifications

Exempt from FLSA, full‑time, non‑sponsored
- May work around standard office conditions.
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
