Job Overview
Interested in getting paid to camp and travel around Texas while exploring different ecosystems and landscapes? The American Youth Works – Texas Conservation Corps Trails Across Texas (TAT) Crew members will work in state parks across Texas maintaining and constructing trails and trail structures throughout the state! Projects may include building and maintaining trails, constructing stone retaining walls, check steps, boardwalks, chainsaw work, and ADA compliant trails.
Members will be trained in using tools such as chainsaws, picks, pruning saws, loppers, and rock bars. Crews travel to out-of-town project sites often, camping for up to 8-10 days at a time with 4-6 days off in between projects. All experiences are welcome! This is a full-time seasonal Ameri Corps service term position working/camping outdoors that specifically focuses on gaining experience in trail projects and land maintenance.
The Texas Conservation Corps is a Program of American Youth Works.
- Build and maintain trails
