Children's Ministry Pastor

The Children’s Ministry Pastor at Austin Oaks Church is responsible for leading a comprehensive ministry that helps children meet, know and follow Jesus while partnering with parents to disciple their families. This role provides both visionary leadership and hands‑on oversight of AOKids, ensuring that every ministry environment is spiritually impactful, relationally engaging and aligned with the mission and values of Austin Oaks Church.

The pastor oversees all children’s ministry programs, events and discipleship opportunities from birth through elementary age, creating pathways for children to grow in their faith and become connected to the church community. A key aspect of the role is fostering meaningful relationships among children, parents and volunteers, helping families experience biblical community and spiritual growth.

The Children’s Ministry Pastor recruits, trains, equips and supports a large volunteer team while providing leadership and supervision to AOKids staff. This includes developing leaders, maintaining effective ministry systems and ensuring volunteers are prepared to serve with excellence. The role also carries responsibility for maintaining safe and secure environments for every child through appropriate policies, procedures and training.

In partnership with parents, the children’s ministry pastor provides resources, encouragement and support to help families take an active role in the spiritual development of their children. The position collaborates closely with other ministries across the church to provide holistic care and discipleship opportunities for families at every stage of life.

Additionally, the pastor plays a strategic role in welcoming and assimilating new families into the life of Austin Oaks Church, providing pastoral care when needed, and organizing events that build community and create opportunities to reach young families. The role also includes stewardship of the children’s ministry budget, ensuring resources are managed effectively to support the ministry’s mission and long‑term growth.

Overall, the children’s ministry pastor serves as the primary shepherd, leader and champion of children and families within the church, building a ministry that reflects Austin Oaks Church’s commitment to helping people meet, know and follow Jesus.
