Department of Arts and Culture Volunteer Coordinator

Location: City of Irving, TX

Salary: $58,344.00 - $82,272.00 annually

• Oversee all aspects of the Department of Arts and Culture’s volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and retention of volunteers.
• Develop, cultivate, and evaluate a robust, sustainable youth and adult volunteer program.
• Work closely with a cross‑departmental team—including Exhibitions/Curatorial, Education & Outreach, Marketing & Communications, Advancement, Operations, and Visitor Services—to fulfill the mission to inspire, engage, and connect visitors of all ages.
• Develop and oversee the budget for the volunteer program and related activities.
• Ensure volunteer check‑in procedures are followed and volunteer hours are recorded per established procedures.
• Conduct ongoing evaluation of programs and services delivered by volunteers, implementing improvements as necessary.
• Prepare an annual report on the contribution of the volunteer program to the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Museum Studies, Art/Art History, History/Humanities, or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least three years of experience supervising, directing, and training volunteers in a museum, community arts center, library, cultural or educational institution, or nonprofit environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in maintaining volunteer records and reporting.
