FC Sustainable Program Development VISTA

At Foundation Communities (FC), we create housing where individuals and families succeed. Our innovative model combines affordable housing with supportive services—empowering low‑income residents and neighbors to achieve educational success, financial stability, and healthier lifestyles. FC owns and manages 33 properties, including 30 in Austin and 3 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Our goal is to end the cycle of poverty through our housing‑plus‑services approach.

As one of the largest nonprofit solar owners in Austin, FC is uniquely positioned to connect renewable energy systems with meaningful cost‑saving opportunities for residents.

The VISTA member will strengthen organizational capacity by developing tools, systems, and strategies that enhance sustainability programming, improve data use, and support resident engagement across Foundation Communities’ properties. The VISTA will develop systems to track and analyze solar energy performance, create tools that translate energy data into actionable insights and cost‑saving opportunities, build standardized tools, templates, and processes to improve the consistency and scalability of sustainability initiatives, design frameworks for resident engagement—including communication strategies, feedback collection, and participation tracking—develop and refine accessible preparedness resources for residents, and establish systems to track program outcomes and incorporate data into continuous program improvement.

Through this work, the VISTA will help expand and sustain informed sustainability programming that reduces costs and supports housing stability.
