Job Summary

San Juan Diego Catholic High School is seeking a Development Coordinator who is responsible, in collaboration with the Director of CIP and Advancement, for implementing a comprehensive annual giving program that supports the mission and strategic priorities of the school. The position supports annual fund campaigns, donor stewardship, major gift cultivation, grant management, and engagement of Corporate Internship Program partners as philanthropic supporters.

Working closely with school leadership, CIP team, alumni, parents, foundations, and community partners, the Development Associate supports the Director of CIP and Development to build and sustain relationships that increase philanthropic support, donor participation, and long‑term investment in the San Juan Diego mission.

Ministerial Character

Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin are canonically obedient to the Bishop and assist him in fulfilling his ministry and canonical obligations. Pastors, presidents, and principals serve as leaders of the schools to make Christ's mission present and enduring in the schools. In order to fulfill Christ's mission, the school leaders employ suitable, chosen collaborators, sharing with them Christ's mission and entrusting to them various responsibilities.

Positions employed in this School help extend the ministry of the school leaders in particular ways as outlined in the job description. The employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the school leaders in the performance of their ministry and, therefore, engages in ministry for the Church.

Essential Duties
  • Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
  • Acts as a witness to the Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
  • Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
  • Execute, in collaboration with the Director of Business Development, a comprehensive annual fund strategy to achieve annual fundraising goals.
  • Manage multi‑channel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, social media, giving days, personal outreach, CIP luncheons, Gala, and Alumni Events.
  • Increase donor participation, donor retention, and recurring giving.
  • Coordinate annual appeals to parents, alumni, faculty/staff, friends, and community supporters.
  • Monitor fundraising performance and provide regular progress reports.
  • Manage a portfolio of leadership annual fund and major gift prospects.
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward individual donors capable of making significant philanthropic investments.
  • Coordinate donor meetings, school visits, and cultivation events.
  • Support the Director Development/CIP and Advancement, and volunteers on major gift strategies.
  • Develop donor proposals, case statements, stewardship plans, and impact reports.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Internship Program team to strengthen relationships with corporate partners.
  • Identify opportunities to expand corporate support beyond job sponsor ships through philanthropy, event sponsor ships, scholarships, and special initiatives.
  • Identify and implement strategies to increase charitable giving from CIP employer partners.
  • Coordinate donor stewardship and recognition activities for corporate supporters.
  • Assist in securing sponsor ships for school events, student programs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Research and identify foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities aligned with school priorities.
  • Develop and write compelling grant proposals and supporting materials.
  • Manage grant submission calendars and deadlines.
  • Monitor grant compliance, reporting requirements, and stewardship activities.
  • Collaborate with program leaders to collect data, outcomes, and impact stories for grant reporting.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with foundation program officers and grant‑making organizations.
